Fairy Rock Mother

Providing random acts of Rock n' Roll kindness.
Offering up the +1 or otherwise enableing someone to attend the show...
or any other act of kindness for a rock n' roll friend because...
They're not really strangers if you like the same bands!

The Fairy Rock Mother's roots stretch back to the traveling Greatful Dead communes, waving the #1, "lookin' for a miricle"

Christene - 9/27.2014, Seattle. +1 for my Sound Sister who's come up from LA to try to get into the hot-hot fucking show. If you ever been to the Off Ramp on a hot August night, you know what I'm talking about.

Eve - Sept/Oct. 2012, Seattle - Yes, the same Eve as below.  Stayed in the RV again.  Helped her and her son find him a place to live, provided transportation and bus help.
Clare - Aug / Sept 2012 - Played local tour guide for Clare, she stayed with us the last 1/2 of her stay. Helped with bus and toursey stuff.

Malfunkshun - July 2012 - Gave my + 1 to someone at the door.

Clare - May 2012, Seattle - Provided customized tour ideas and inspecting places she's thinking about staying. Traveling from Scotland.

Mudhoney - March 2012, Tractor Tav. - Eve in Seattle again, gave her +1 to Sean, who we met at Hazelwood just hours before the show. I tried to get Ian in with a story, didn't work, but he ended up getting in.

Soundgarden - July 2011, Gorge - Provided place to stay (RV) and transportation for Eve who came down from Homer, AK. Met her on SGWorld message board. Eve earned her FRM wings by giving her + 1 to a complete stranger.

Nudedragons - April 2010, Showbox - +1 to a gal who flew up from Texas with her husband and infant on the rumor (thanks to Brad) that Soundgarden was going to be playing in town in the next few days.

THE Fairy Rock Mother ~ Toni Wood

Momma Love Bone (aka Momma Malfunkshun)
3/31/2011

I met Andrew Wood's mom summer 2010, at a screening of Malfunkshun: the Andrew Wood Story at the Seattle Hard Rock. They showed the movie, and as I recall, had a brief q & a / meet and greet before Satchel & Malfunkshun (revised) took the stage. Satchel always delivers! Malfunkshun was… I hate to say, disappointing.  The lead singer didn't even know all the lyrics, it just left me feeling sad.

At one point between the movie and the music, I saw Momma Love Bone wandering the floor, shaking hands and thanking people for coming out. I don't remember exactly what I said, I just remember trying to convey gratitude... for the joy that Andy's music still brings us and to her, for a few words she said in the movie. She reminded me to always enjoy my children. They're only young for a short period of time and that time needs to be cherished.  Simple and poignant.

oh wait.... one more....
Another among these ranks is Toni Karayiannis ~ Chris Cornell’s mother-in-law.  I tripped upon her in the Twitterverse around the time of the Nudedragons show in 2010.  She seems a very sweet woman, who has shared some tender family moments and is a champion of marriage, family and children.  I sense she’s able to become ferociously protective if she feels any of those cherished are threatened.
